Monday 6th May to Friday 10th May, from 10am
Dear Friends and Gardeners
I am holding a plant sale/swap again this year in aid of the Great Dixter Charitable Trust Education Programme.
As I said last year most of you will have heard of Great Dixter in Kent. A world-famous garden which was the home of the legendary gardener and writer Christopher Lloyd.
After Christo’s death in 2006 it has been run by his head gardener Fergus Garrett. Fergus has inspired many young [and old!] people and trains students from all backgrounds in horticulture after which they have a career for life. Last year, because of your generosity, I was able to send them just over £2,000. This helped to pay for a student who is currently working in the nursery and getting on very well.
If you have any spare seedlings, plants, bulbs, cutting etc they will be gratefully received.
The garden will be open all week and you are welcome to bring friends, have a picnic etc.
As last year NONE OF THE PLANTS WILL BE PRICED, SO JUST HELP YOURSELF TO WHAT YOU WANT AND PUT A DONATION IN THE BOX. Alternatively, you could make a contribution via BACS (Mrs J E Coley, a/c no 11801261 Sort code 16 00 15). Please just remember to put a reference ‘PLANTS’ so that I know what it is for.
There is plenty of parking in the paddock [if dry!]. Hope to see you.
Julie Coley
